Wanderer was photographed in the Pacific Northwest after encountering an interesting traveler. A free-spirited soul with weathered skin and deep-set eyes, Mike chose a life untethered, riding the rusted rails of freight trains that crisscrossed the Pacific Northwest. Though some might view him as a drifter lost in time, I found Mike, whom I hired as a model for an afternoon of portrait shooting, a free and humorous person, satisfied with the freedom he found in the fleeting moments, trading material possessions for a boundless horizon.

The original photo was taken on 6x7 medium format film and is offered here in multiple sizes, printed on exhibition quality cotton-based paper with archival giclée ink, faithfully reproducing my original intent of this piece, which was to capture an honest and honoring moment.
